Christmas Bell Ornament - Ecuador

Ecuadoran artisans create this Christmas bell ornament from a tagua nut, also known as "vegetable ivory." The grain is close and very hard, resembling the finest ivory. To make this ornament, artisan Albert Ricardo Espin Lopez and members of his small family workshop carve each nut individually.

This tagua nut carving supports Rainforest Conservation and local economic development.
