About the Artist:
This unique, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind item provides freedom to the poorest of the poor. Our fair trade partners work in conjunction with a non-profit organization in Calcutta named Connexions that trains and employs families out of the slum districts to create these beautiful sari throws. The material used to make this item is cotton saris, which is the beautiful, traditional dress of Indian women. The sari materials were purchased second-hand, at a fair rate from poor areas of Kolkata, India. This item has been hand-sewn, and each one comes with a story of freedom and redemption. By purchasing this recycled sari product, you are providing hope to men and women that live in the slums in India.
