]]>Hi all, and happy April!
I hope your week is off to a great start. Around here, we’re excited about all things Spring, and that includes our gorgeous new pottery collection! These beautiful soap and ring dishes are made to order in Charlotte, North Carolina. The artist, Hope Fregerio, draws inspiration from the colors and shapes of the natural world. She often relates the glaze colors on her pieces to the organic inspirations around her: the mountains and beaches of the Carolinas. Her background in ceramic art and passion for pottery allow her to add beauty and fulfillment to her life and the lives of others through her pieces. Here are a few of my favorites:
I think any of these pieces would make a wonderful and unique Mother’s Day or bridesmaid gift. From the custom color-block initial ring dish and personalized wedding ring bowl to the personalized initial soap dish, each would be a welcome addition to a loved one’s home. Check out the rest of the collection!
You can read more about Hope and the inspiration behind her pottery here. And feel free to browse our other Mother’s Day gift ideas!
XO!

Check them out below:
This sailboat clock pays homage to afternoons spent on the water. Beautifully hand painted, this ornamental timepiece is the perfect addition to any room.
Oxidos Sailboat Wall Clock in Teal
Same fun piece in a bright teal! I think this would be great in a child’s playroom or a screened-in patio.
Oxidos Crab Wall Clock in Orange
I think this one is my favorite of the bunch. It reminds me of being on the beach, which is always a good thing!
And finally:
Oxidos Lighthouse Clock in Blue
This one is perfect for a home on the coast, or for that someone in your life who loves lighthouses!
I love finding little home updates that can change the look and feel of a room without breaking the bank. Which clock is your favorite?

Here’s a little bit about our Malaysian partners:

Now, we are opening a sewing center to teach new women sewing and business skills.

]]>The post Passion Lilie Collaboration {Fair Trade Clothing!} appeared first on All That's Fair..
]]>Even though the fair trade movement has gained so much steam over the past few years, it’s still been a little difficult to find fun, fashionable fair trade clothing items. They haven’t seemed to be as plentiful as fair trade jewelry and accessories. But happily, that is no longer the case—introducing our brand new collaboration with ethical clothing company Passion Lilie!
We will begin carrying items from this fair trade, high-quality clothing line this month. From the ladies at Passion Lilie themselves:
Passion Lilie began with a desire to change the fashion industry, so that ethical fashion is affordable and accessible for everyone. We are a New Orleans based women’s fair trade clothing line that gives individuals, mainly women, in remote villages a unique opportunity to live a dignified life.
Mission:
Our mission is to empower artisans across the world by creating dignified employment opportunities that give fair wages and safe and healthy working conditions. We believe that these positive job opportunities lead to sustainable societies and a better world.
By purchasing fair trade garments, you are helping to reverse the cycle of poverty and to improve the world you live in. And the best part is that neither Passion Lilie nor our artisans are asking for a penny of your charity. We just want you to make a conscious purchase when you go to buy your next outfit.
Our product is for those who want to make a global impact while looking fashionable!
We are committed to:
- Supporting fair wages, and safe and healthy working condition
- Preserving the environment through the use of natural dyes and energy and water reduction in the production process
- Creating stylish and affordable women’s clothing
- Revitalizing ancient artisanal dyeing techniques
- Providing new opportunities for community development
Not only does the company have a wonderful mission and focus, but the designs and patterns of their items are whimsical and beautiful. Check out a few of my favorite pieces below:
That’s the Bahia Dress, Fleur de Lis Scarf in White, and Breton Shirt in Blue. Aren’t they perfect for Spring?
You can purchase the full line of products from our Website here, but before you go on a buying spree, why not try to win your fave item? Over the course of this month, Seven Hopes is doing a Pin It to Win It contest with our Passion Lilie products, and you’re invited!
During the entire month of February, pin on Pinterest as many Passion Lilie products from 7 Hopes as you would like with the hashtags #7hopesunited, #pinittowinit, and #ethicalfashion. We will choose one winner on March 1st, 2015, to receive the Passion Lilie product of their choice!
Are you excited about our new collaboration? Good luck pinning!
XO,
Casey

]]>The post Christmas Tree Ornaments! {Product Spotlight} appeared first on All That's Fair..
]]>When it comes to decorating your Christmas tree, does your household adhere to the “theme” method or the “throw it all up in a random display of merriment” way of doing things? I grew up embracing the latter, but I can definitely appreciate the wonder of a glowing, all-silver tree or one exclusively covered in deep reds and golds.
Whatever your preference for the holidays, our beautiful, lively new Christmas tree ornaments will add plenty of wintery flair to your usual merry tree. They would be perfect for an animal or outdoor winter wonderland theme, or would add a fun compliment to whatever special ornaments you already own! Here are a few of my favorites from the collection:
Aren’t they the cutest? These hand-made, fair trade ornaments come to us from our partners in both Nepal and Kyrgyzstan.
About Kyrgystan:
After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, Kyrgyzstan became an independent country – and was reeling from economic hardship. Many women were unemployed, and making ends meet was a daily challenge. Our fair trade partners work with women who started small craft businesses to help them further expand their markets, grow, and support their communities. We work with inspiring women who are determined to save their traditional art of felting – passed down from mother to daughter across the generations.
About Nepal:
Our felt felt Christmas ornaments are handmade by a women’s cooperative in Kathmandu, Nepal. The project focuses on providing skills training and income opportunities to women in great economical need. Each felt ornament is made with 100% natural wool and non-toxic, azo-free dyes. The waste dye water is drained into a neighborhood garden for growing food, and wool scraps are recycled to create new products.
Which ones are your favorites? Click here to check out the whole collection!

Casey

]]>The post All About Baskets! {Product Spotlight} appeared first on All That's Fair..
]]>These baskets can be used for a playroom, bathroom (what? toilet paper needs a pretty home too), or even your living room or bedroom. Sturdy enough for books, bankets, or anything else that needs its very own resting place, they’re perfect for any area of your living space! Your husband might ask why you need 14 of them, but then nobody promised marriage would be perfect.
I listed some of favorites below:
Pink Woven Storage Basket: Made in Senegal, this stylish piece also comes in aqua. Wolof women in rural Senegal have been crafting coil style baskets for generations. While traditional baskets were crafted using cattail stalks bound with strips of reed, modern baskets are bound with strips of plastic either recycled from old prayer mats or purchased new from a mat factory in Dakar. Isn’t it fabulous?
Yellow Herringbone Garden Basket: See, I didn’t even list “garden” above, but hey—use this one in your garden! Hand woven by the Wolof women in rural Senegal as well, these brand-new beauties serve to generate income to provide food, shelter and educational materials for Senegalese homes.
Graphic Lidded Hamper: Fair trade craftswomen weave these beautifully simple laundry hampers from typha stalks (cattails) and recycled plastic. If your hamper is stylish and gorgeous, then that makes your laundry stylish and gorgeous too, right? (Yep, even your running socks.)
Yellow Lidded Warming Basket: This colorful little container is a perfect way to gift homemade rolls or cookies. Wipes clean inside and boasts a beautiful woven pattern outside!
Mini Bolga Market Basket: This mini African market basket was handwoven by artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana. Each mini market basket is beautiful and unique, designed with a sturdy leather handle and a thick base, perfect for use as a farmers market basket or for your “mini me” who wants to be just like mom and dad.
Which is your favorite? Check out the rest here!

Casey

Made from recycled Vietnamese feed bags, these unique storage bins are perfect for anyone looking for a colorful & stylish place to stash toys, blankets, diapers, and yep, you guessed it, laundry. They make a pretty addition to a kids room or craft room too! These beauties have some great features:

]]>Now Available from our Fair Trade Partners in Bangladesh
We’ve got baby on the brain! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in August, and I couldn’t resist getting these adorable Sari Baby Blankets from our fair trade partners in Bangladesh. I just can’t help imagining how sweet our new baby will look wrapped up in this beautiful blanket made with hope and love by women from across the globe. Our colorful sari baby blankets are one-of-a-kind and reversible, so you can choose a print that will complement your unique style. I adore this print that we fittingly named “Baby Love.”
Each blanket is lightweight, and generously sized (40″ x 40″) to make swaddling easy. The traditional “kantha” hand-stitching and vintage sari fabric creates an incredibly soft feel that your baby will love, and will continue to get softer with every wash.
Best of all, our new Sari Baby Blankets are versatile: meaning you can use them as a stroller or nursing cover, burp cloth, tummy time blanket, and more! What’s not to love about that?
Each of our sari baby blankets are handmade by a women’s cooperative in Bangladesh. Our fair trade partners work with women who have escaped a life of human trafficking – your purchase of these handmade blankets provide hope for a better future, dignity, and living wages. These women have been given a chance to rise above their circumstances and take back their humanity, and we thank you for wanting to be a part of that. Our goal is to bring hope to the poor, one fair trade purchase at a time.
Our new sari baby blankets are a wonderful and unique baby shower gift that they are sure to cherish! For more fair trade baby shower gift ideas visit our previous blog posts here and here.

]]>I don’t know about you, but my faithful black yoga pants are just begging for a long nap in the drawer labeled “winter.” They’re ready to be replaced by bright, soft and breezy Springtime prints! Enter our new Pajama Loungers, handmade in India. The purchase of these cozy lounging pants will support the women of the International Princess Project who have escaped forced prostitution. Each of the following pairs of pants is:
- Wide-legged and super comfortable
- Low-rise and sits comfortably on hips
- Matching drawstring elasticized waist
- 100% cotton
- Machine washable
First up are these beauties, the Karoona Punjammie Loungers: Bright emerald cotton sprinkled with simple black flowers which grow larger towards the base, forming a natural border.
Followed by the gorgeous Ratna Punjammie Loungers: Cherry red fades into navy and turquoise as a white bead-like pattern streams down this airy cotton fabric bordered with a printed emerald peacock feather.
And finally, we’ve got the popular shorter-length Mani Capri Sleep Pants: Deep and light teal alternate in a classic vining leaf pattern sprinkled with marigold flowers. A scene with water-grazing cranes wading among the grass and reeds trims the base of the leg to form a natural border.
Aren’t they great lounging pants? Personally, I can’t wait to break them out for warmer evenings! And if you’re going on Spring Break, I think a pair should definitely make its way into your suitcase!

Casey
