Metal in the Spotlight

I love a theme! And this week I wanted to look at a specific material that can be found on Seven Hopes United’s website: metal.  There are several really great metal pieces on the site for you to choose from as a gift for others or even for yourself!

Have a wonderful day – Dawn

This Tree of Life would be a unique and utterly apropos gift for the arrival of a new baby.

This wine stopper along with a fair trade bottle of wine would be a lovely hostess present.

Tabletop Tuesday: Aprons & Oven Mitts

In order to get food to your tabletop it’s nice to have a little assistance from aprons and oven mitts.  While it might seem that aprons aren’t a necessary part of cooking and baking I would argue that they aren’t just a pretty accessory.  If you are like me you might be a little messy when you cooking and baking.  And if you are a neater cook than I, well then I would say aprons are still a nice touch! Oven mitts are, of course, a necessary part of baking and cooking, at times too and if you need to have an oven mitt than why not have a unique fair trade oven mitt!

Here are some of my favorite aprons and oven mitts from our collection!

This one reminds me of the aprons my grandmothers wore in the ’40s and ’50s.

Fall into Color: Fair Trade Accessories

Last week I journeyed into fall by looking at beautiful pieces that were infused with fall colors.  This week I’d like to remain with the theme of fall colors but instead of looking at home goods look at fair trade accessories.

Seven Hopes United has several lovely fair trade accessories that can ready your wardrobe for fall; I have picked five pieces that I like in particular and that I would happily add to my collection of accessories!

Enjoy – Dawn

Sunset Wedding!

photo (1)Happy Friday from sunny Florida! I’m currently in Destin for a friend’s sunset wedding on the beach this evening. I’ve never been to a destination wedding, and I can’t wait. I can’t think of a more perfect wedding setting!

The only problem with destination weddings is, you don’t exactly want to haul a big gift on a plane, then down to the beach, for the couple to have to worry about transporting home. Did you know that when you buy a wedding gift from Seven Hopes United, you can have it shipped directly to whatever address the bride and groom register with? You can add a personal note for free too!

If you haven’t checked out the details of a wedding registry, you can do so here. And the bride and groom don’t have to be registered with Seven Hopes United for you to send them a gift from the site. Fair trade gifts are perfect for any couple, and by choosing products that provide a sustainable income, you’re helping the lovebirds help change the world! That’s a pretty great wedding gift right there.

Time for me to go get the bride a mimosa! Have a great weekend wherever you are!

XO,

Casey

Tasty Tuesday: Fair Trade Chocolate

Fair Trade chocolate might be my most favorite fair trade product.  I love the wide range of wonderfully made and truly beautiful and unique fair trade items that are out there but I just adore chocolate, especially when I know that the person who produced it was treated with justice and equality! When people tell me they don’t like chocolate, which isn’t something I’ve heard too often, I just can’t understand; actually I have a seriously intense sweet tooth so I don’t really understand when people don’t like sweets in general.

“There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate.”

- Charles Dickens

In honor of my passion for chocolate it seemed fit to share some of the fair trade chocolates I enjoy most!

Milk chocolate isn’t my go to chocolate, I prefer dark chocolate, but this milk chocolate is velvety and really very good!

Theo really does make very wonderful chocolate and I have always enjoyed the chocolate and nut combination that is found in their chocolate and almond bar. Salty + Sweet = Heaven!
