Our Beautiful Wooden Pieces

Growing up in my home meant you knew a thing or two about wood and all of its variations. My paternal grandfather, uncle and father were all amateur wood craftsmen.  My grandfather and uncle won awards for the pieces they created and all of the woodwork in my childhood home was made by my father in our basement.  Now when I see wooden doors or serving dishes I notice the pattern of the grain and the color of the wood and quite often I find myself really admiring its beauty.

Seven Hopes United has several items made from wood in all different shapes and sizes.  I have featured a few of my favorites below; I hope that you find beauty in them and like them as much as I do.

Tabletop Tuesday: Aprons & Oven Mitts

In order to get food to your tabletop it’s nice to have a little assistance from aprons and oven mitts.  While it might seem that aprons aren’t a necessary part of cooking and baking I would argue that they aren’t just a pretty accessory.  If you are like me you might be a little messy when you cooking and baking.  And if you are a neater cook than I, well then I would say aprons are still a nice touch! Oven mitts are, of course, a necessary part of baking and cooking, at times too and if you need to have an oven mitt than why not have a unique fair trade oven mitt!

Here are some of my favorite aprons and oven mitts from our collection!

This one reminds me of the aprons my grandmothers wore in the ’40s and ’50s.

Table Top Tuesday: Fair Trade Home Goods

Happy Tuesday! This week I thought I would change things up a bit; instead of How Tuesday or Tasty Tuesday not why try Tabletop Tuesday?!? I do enjoy a theme.  Seven Hopes United has many lovely fair trade home goods to choose from so it seemed like a very good idea to feature some of them in this post. Also, summertime is a time of picnics and friends and family coming together to share laughs and to create memories over good food and tasty drinks. The fair trade home goods I picture below use simple colors that are welcoming and that would be perfect for a dinner party, evening BBQ or even a nice summer brunch.
